Finance Officer


£22,000 PA

Alive Church are looking to employ a Finance Officer to support the operations of Alive Church through effective administration under the direction of the Finance Director

Key Roles 

The following list details the key roles of this position

  • Check Bank account position on all accounts, including: 
  • Alive Current Account. 
  • Alive Rise and Build Account. 
  • Alive Make A Difference Account. 
  • Alive Enterprises Account.


  • Produce Alive Location budget Reports. 
  • Check Cash Flow on Bank accounts and Alive Enterprises. 
  • Daily banking sheets - Confirm income received or spent and update.
  • Oversee Gift aid team and Gift Aid software, including: 
  • Gift Aid claims for monthly donations. 
  • Gift Aid claims for weekly donations. 
  • Gift Aid anomalies. 
  • Gift Aid split of income to different Alive locations and bank accounts. 
  • Gift Aid bank transfer in both Xero software and online banking. 
  • File Gift Aid claims for auditing.


  • Check all finance emails and give attention to main issues. 
  • File any HR papers online - Maternity pay/ new starters and leavers, sick notes, tax codes. 
  • Open Finance external and Finance internal post. 
  • Oversee the Card machine income including enter into Xero Software. 
  • Pay invoices/expenses once approved by line manager. 
  • Bank reconciliations weekly for all bank accounts including Alive Enterprises.
  • Alive Enterprises - Oversee income and expenditure. 
  • Oversee Xero software and update accordingly including journals and nominal coding. 
  • Data analysis for various queries from Line Manager. 
  • Oversee income for Special events - working alongside Line Manager.
  • Process Monthly and weekly payroll. 
  • Oversee Credit card expenditure and Alive Credit card invoices. 
  • Month end tasks as agreed with Line Manager. 
  • Processing year end accounts for audit.

Administrator (Grantham)

Alive Church are looking to employ an Administrator to support the operations of Alive Grantham through effective administration and communication under the direction of Operations Team Leader.

Role Purpose

To work within the Grantham Administrative Team taking on a range of tasks to help release our Location Pastor into their ministries. 

The main purpose of the role is to communicate effectively with all members of staff, help with a range of administrative tasks and ensure the work we do is in line with our values, being as excellent and as efficient as possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) To recruit, equip and support a team of volunteers to oversee the administrative functions of Alive Grantham. 

Tasks included but not limited to:

  • Management and ordering of consumables including stationery, printer ink etc. 
  • To assist with the weekly banking of tithes and offerings.
  • Updating database as appropriate.
  • Liaise with Alive Media to provide relevant resources for Alive Grantham including monthly news sheet/ church news and e-newsletter.
  • Record keeping of income and expenditure. 
  • To liaise with other locations, general public or church members as appropriate.
  • Any and all other administrative tasks as deemed necessary by line manager.
  • To coordinate the church and conferences diaries.
  • To oversee and help coordinate team rotas and Sunday teams.
  • To assist with any administrative needs of other departments in Alive Grantham including Youth, Kids, Alpha etc.

2) To develop and lead a team to oversee Room Hire in Alive Grantham.

Tasks included but not limited to:

  • Respond to any room hire enquiries via phone, email or in person. 
  • Oversee booking process from quote to invoice.
  • Set up and pack down of conference rooms as appropriate. 
  • Provide great customer service to conference delegates.
  • Increase room bookings through internal and external marketing channels.
